Sweater Series: From A Boutique in Austin

 Sweater Series: Twelfth Installment

Normally at this time of year I perform the bi-annual task of stowing away the previous seasons’ clothes into storage bags and pulling out my winter dresses and cosy jumpers. This year however, most of my summer gear is still packed away. I have not had a holiday this year - even the idea of a staycation seemed too risky for me, so all those lovely maxi dresses and silky skirts are still sitting there, waiting to meet their sartorial destiny.

As I looked through my wardrobe it struck me how much I have. I am the queen of hyperbole, but I could possibly dress my entire street and still have items left over. This is when I do not shop a lot. I wouldn't call myself a shopper, instead a collector of some stand-out pieces to wear with my otherwise practical-basic wardrobe. But since my size hadn't changed dramatically for the past 15 years, and my clothes stay in good condition I now have a wardrobe full of fabulous, unique pieces. #FirstWorldProblems

Anyhoo, like my last sweater, this is an oldie as well, from 2008. One of my first purchases from when I'd moved to Austin, TX. The winter there isn't as harsh so I never needed any bulky coats or jackets. Sweaters sufficed once the temperature dropped. I used to always style this with leggings and boots (as seen here) but since last year, I have been wearing it over a maxi dress (like here) or a maxi skirt (as worn in this post). And I rather quite like it. This also happens to be the only sweater dress I own. And even after all these years, I love it.

  2. An oldie but a goodie! What a great color and how cool to have a sweater this long. So many people toss things so easily.

  18. I need to get a better system when it comes to storing clothes that are no longer for the right season. I'm struggling with the summer dresses and lack of real winter clothing. Lots of sweaters and jeans, but not much more than that. I need your organizational bug!
