I can't believe that after all this while, and 'x' many lives lost, and so much scientific and logical information available people are still not wearing a mask. They'd rather fall sick, and incur potential future health problems or worse die, than wear a mask!
You might have noticed that since March 2020 I have not posted any outdoor outfit posts. That is because I did not step out to 'shoot' outfit posts. All my outfits were shot at home, until recently.
In the past month I stepped out twice to shoot for two campaigns (one & two). Both times I ensured that I will be in locations, at the times when they were not crowded. Both times was wearing masks. Both times, I maintained more than six feet of social distancing. And if I may say so myself, both times I felt stylish and yet safe (scroll down to see both my outfits with masks). I am grateful that the brands that I chose to work with were equally committed towards public safety and emphasized on following safety protocols which in turn made me feel safe and even excited to collaborate with them.
Now I am not making a comment on how others choose to shoot their work but I AM making a request to everyone to FUCKING wear a mask. There is absolutely no excuse to be in public and not wear one. Prevention is better than cure. Your mask helps protect those around you. Masks are a simple barrier to help prevent your respiratory droplets from reaching others. Studies show that masks reduce the spray of droplets when worn over the nose and mouth. You should wear a mask, even if you do not feel sick.
How to Safely Wear & Take Off A Mask
I could not agree enough! I am so ready for this to be over. In the meantime, I'm glad that brands are creating stylish masks to go with different outfits :-)

Even though I am working, i make sure i dress up every single morning! I helps me feel like i am in an office.
ReplyDeleteSafety and style definitely can go hand in hand. I personally like the disposable masks for safety reasons, but sometimes I do like to match my masks to my outfit for the day.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate this post and all of the helpful info you provided. Agree that simply complying with mask wearing benefits everyone. Stay safe! xoxo, Sarah
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you. We have to wear masks in Italy and it’s no big deal.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Strongly. People not wearing masks are fools. They risk everyone's health for... no reason. They deserve our condemnation.
ReplyDeleteMy husband is my photographer, so we had it a little easier when it came to photoshoots. I've only done maybe 3? since the pandemic began, but we've always made sure to shoot in areas that are completely unpopulated and outdoors to avoid coming in contact with anyone else. Otherwise we are religiously wearing our masks. It baffles me that others are so nonchalant about it! It's not just about preserving your own life, but others too!
ReplyDeleteLove this! You can totally feel stylish wearing a mask!!
ReplyDeleteTHIS! My photographer and I shoot early in the mornings when there's no one around, stay 6 feet a part and wear our masks. I actually think it's kind of fun now to find masks to go with my outfits!
ReplyDelete100% agree that we should all be wearing a mask!!

You can definitely be stylish when wearing a mask. The only thing I would say is just remember that every city, every country is different. There are a lot of places that don't have mask orders. Until literally yesterday here where I live (BC, Canada) we did not have a mask order. I've been wearing one often because I feel like I'm doing my part in keeping people safe that way, but I can tell you it has not been common here for others to wear masks and in part that is because our health minister until yesterday refused to make them mandatory. Just a little reminder that we need to consider that different areas may have different restrictions and different strategies for dealing with the pandemic.
ReplyDeleteI agree, with the new norm of wearing the mask to keep safe, does not mean that we can't make our look stylish at the same time. Great post emphasizing that.
ReplyDeleteI just recently purchased some more stylish masks to set off my outfits. I know I haven't been dressing up too much, but I think with the more fashionable masks I'll switch it up.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who has a bunch of masks to match her style and personality. They're adorable and functional.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this post! While I am so over it all, wearing masks is the responsible thing to do.
