Thank you Amazon for sponsoring this post. Where will adventure take you and your Kindle device this summer?
What I love the most though is, reading while traveling. There is no real time-restraint, no responsibilities to get to. Your brain has the space to wander. My ideal downtime activity involves planning an adventure, and grabbing a book for the time in-between and come back with stories, memories, and an enriched mind.
However, as baggage fees increase and airlines become increasingly strict about the height, weight, and width of our carry-ons, packing lightly—and packing efficiently—it has become a struggle to choose between clothes and books. Am I right? While there are some items that are first to get the heave-ho, no questions asked, there are others that are harder to part with for a number of reasons, sentimental or otherwise. Should books, those so-called bastions of a tech-free era, get replaced? If you asked me I would probably say, "Heck, No!" I enjoy the physical object of a book, both the feel of it as well as the smell of paper. They, however, are bulky and can be heavy, so the desire to travel with them requires some compromise. The all-new Kindle is Amazon’s most affordable e-reader and is the first Kindle with an adjustable front light for less than $100. A refreshed design that’s thin and light, makes the all-new Kindle easy to hold when kicking back with a story.
One of the questions I often asked is if I prefer 'paper books' or 'e-readers' and the honest answer is both. It depends on the type of trip I'm taking—or the sort of travel I'm doing. If I'm traveling for work, I'll load up my Kindle with books and read that way: being able to flip the page with a tap of my finger or lower the screen brightness goes a long way on planes, trains, and automobiles. Plus you get the option of three months of Kindle Unlimited included for free so you can enjoy unlimited access to millions of titles. Plus, the Kindle has a battery life that’s measured in weeks so I don’t have to worry about packing a charger.
Reading is one of my favorite things to do on vacation!
ReplyDeleteReading is also one of my big passions. I love to lose myself in a good book especially on holiday.

I'm such a book fan, I've been trying to get on board with kindles / e-readers but so far I just miss too much the feeling of having an actual book!
ReplyDeleteReading is really fun. And books are surely great companions wherever you are. Thank you for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteI go to the beach once a year just so I can read and relax! Kindle's are perfect for that!
ReplyDeletei like reading when i travel. sometimes its my only oppertunity
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love reading while traveling. That's truly disconnecting from all the digital craziness for me because I really only read fiction. So I'll escape in my book while I'm escaping with travel. It's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried a Kindle before, but I love traveling with a book to read too. Love the idea of lightening up my suitcase.. think I'll have to get one for my next trip to Iceland.
ReplyDeleteThe kindle makes complete sense but we haven't been able to make the switch over. Some day...
ReplyDeleteHave not made the switch to a kindle yet. Maybe one day. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBooks are my go-to when I travel, too. Vacations, and travel in general, are really the only times that I have the extra time to read at all.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I don't think I read enough, but always enjoy indulging in one on vacation!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, definitely! I have Kindle but I still prefer having hard cover books. But either way, I love reading books and I try to read at least one chapter everyday.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading especially on a long plane ride.
ReplyDeleteBooks are definitely a go to when traveling! Especially when it comes to the beach or lake.

ReplyDeleteI have honestly not read a good book in a LONG time is.But I actually love it. I also rarely read a book more than once!
ReplyDeleteI definitely prefer "real" books, but I can't deny that electronic books can be very convenient. When I travel, that's what I take with me.
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a reader especially when travelling on an airplane. but it does seem relaxing. I should try it sometime.

I totally want a new Kindle. I just got a Kindle book from Amazon (Recursion by Blake Crouch) and I got a discount on the audiobook, so it's nice having both options.
