Before I address this I will say this - Dressing for your body shape is all about choosing clothes that flatter your body. And let’s be honest: “Flattering” is really just code for “makes you look thinner, taller, more curvy or less curvy”, whichever side your body falls on in comparison to what’s currently considered ‘ideal’. I subscribe to the school of thought - wear what makes you happy and comfortable. That should be the key to any dressing - formal or casual.
Having said that, if you still feel compelled to dress for your body type/shape below are two great articles, which have explained with graphics and information.

Nonetheless, I honestly believe that confidence and basic grooming/hygiene can go a long way in making you look polished and stylish. Find your personal style and once you do create your wardrobe around it. That way even when your body shape changes your whole closet won't go for a toss. But that's just my opinion.
Below is my work week wardrobe. Last couple of weeks have been short for me, hence just 4 looks. :)

ReplyDeleteThat de-coding of the word "flattering" is very interesting. Never really thought of it like that, but it's so true. Flattering makes my confident and comfortable so that is an aspect I consider when picking clothes! And Monday's outfit - totally re-creating!

ReplyDeleteI always dress for my shape. Since I'm petite with a proportionally larger chest, I need to wear solids. Prints overwhelm me. I also need a scoop or v-neck otherwise I look too top-heavy!
ReplyDeleteCute and stylish outfits! I love that each style is totally different from the others. Thanks for sharing!!
