Last week I reviewed five books I have enjoyed recently. Below are the highlight from the first book I have mentioned: The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck
by Mark Manson
- Not giving a fuck does not mean being indifferent, it means being comfortable with being different.
- Pain, in all of its forms, is our body’s most effective means of spurring action.
- People who become great at something become great because they understand that they’re not already great - they are mediocre, they are average - and that they could be so much better.
- Self-awareness is like an onion. There are multiple layers to it, and the more you peel them back, the more likely you’re going to start crying at inappropriate times.
- This is because you always get to choose how you see things, how you react to things, how you value things.
- Until we change how we view ourselves, what we believe we are and are not, we cannot overcome our avoidance and anxiety. We cannot change.
- If you’re stuck on a problem, don’t sit there and think about it, just start working on it. Even if you don’t know what you’re doing, the simple act of working on it will eventually cause the right ideas to show up in your head.
- You too are going to die, and that’s because you too were fortunate enough to have lived.
On that note, this post as well is sans make-up. I only have sunscreen on and nothing else. Not a spec of any product. Also, I am wearing the same top I wore in the last outfit post (which was shot in Mexico City).

I have got to check out the book. Ps. I love NOT wearing make-up. Though it can be fun to wear it from time to time.

Love this! We're bombarded with images of filtered beauty and it's refreshing to see natural!
ReplyDeleteI love wearing make up,but I love not wearing even more. It makes my skin smoother, and I feel lighter every time.
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to adopt that attitude - god knows I've tried and failed multiple times. That having said, kudos on doing it and girl, you look beautiful without the makeup!
ReplyDeleteYou look absolutely beautiful and I'm sure it just makes your life so much easier!
ReplyDeleteI definitely wouldn't mind reading this book. I think you look amazing! You hit on some great points of the book.
ReplyDeleteWomen are free to wear makeup and not wear makeup. They should enjoy that freedom by doing both. When you want, apply it; when you don't, don't. P.S., those rain-booties are cute!
ReplyDeleteI gotta read that book. It's been on my list for ages, but I gotta make it happen! You've inspired me just from this post!
