Books are my life. You already know that about me from this post though. Everyone around knows my love for books. I treat them better than I treat anything else in my life. They always look brand new even after years of reading and re-reading them. You know how people are crazy about their kids or pets? I am crazy about books in the same way. They are better than all living organisms. Period! I kid .. not! :)
But seriously, hear me out:
1. When everyone else lets you down you always have your books to go back to. Even in the loneliest moments you know you can immerse yourself in a new world in a book and everything will be okay. At least for awhile.2. If can wake up thinking about your book and you can go to bed with one next to you. It will never feel smothered. To be honest, the best nights in are nights spent reading.
3. You can carry a book with you at ALL times. Going to the doctor's office? Carry a book. Going on a road trip? Carry a book. Boarding a plane? Carry a book. You can never be bored, lonely or restless when you have a book with you.
5. Sometimes you have a hard time dealing with other people. But books, man. Books always understand you. You really don’t need much as long as you have a book.
I might be a tad bit obsessed with reading and books but that's not the worst vice to have is it? Also, this should come as no surprise that I like to visit libraries in different cities. The one in Seattle was a work of art. If I live in the city, especially in downtown Seattle I would have been at the library every single day.

That certainly is a good list as to why. Perhaps I need to get back into reading!

#4 is definitely relatable. I love how i can simply escape into the lives of fictional characters or become a strong individual by reading nonfiction. Love this post

ReplyDeleteNice post. For me books are de-stressors, they let me get to my normal breathing if my mind is all flustered. Btw, when I visited this library, I had the same thoughts, it’s really a piece of art, every floor.
