Growing up, I had always been comfortable in my skin. I don't remember having any 'significant' issues with clothes or how I looked in them. Of course, I was aware of the fact that I wasn't skinny, but I compensated for that by being 'extra' and having a I-don't-give-a-damn-persona. Surprisingly most of my body issues actually came to surface only when I started working out and getting fit. Isn't that ironic?

Ever since I had any say in what I could wear, I remember that I would never put on clothes that itch, had tags in weird places or just didn't fit right. I loved soft fabrics, solid colors, and hassle-free dressing. Nothing has change on that front in the last thirty six years. I am still about the same things. My style has always been about comfort first.
Talking of comfort, I am in LOVE with the outfit I am wearing in this post. In the past week I have already worn the exact same thing twice and the leggings for the better half of the week. You know when you discover a new brand, and can't get enough of their pieces? I believe that's how I feel about Soft Surroundings. Their collection is that sweet spot where trends meet fit/cut. Especially these metro leggings. The stretch enough to be comfortable and their cut is flattering to all body types. They have in no time become my go-to-pants.
Another favorite of mine is this ribbed cardigan which is super light in weight and has a feather soft touch. The color and cut makes it perfect for the spring weather or for those in between warmer days (like it was when I shot this) in winter months.
And for the finishing touches to this uber-casual look I decided to go incognito with my new Dad Brand hat. I don't know about you, but I was really digging under-stated casual look (ha!).
P.S. Take pictures in coffee houses, and cafes had got to be my favorite thing!

ReplyDeleteYour jeans are really cute. I love the flowers on the bottom of your pants. You pair it nicely with that cardigan.
ReplyDeleteAhh I would totally rock this outfit too! I love anything striped so that tunic is calling my name!
ReplyDeleteComfort is key. I had a teacher tell my mom, when I was a child, that I might "fit in better" if I "stopped wearing stretch pants."
ReplyDeleteExcuse you. I don't want to be friends with people who aren't cool with my stretch pants. TYVM
I love how comfortable this number looks! I love a good cardigan or sweater, but living in South Florida I rarely get the chance to wear either!
ReplyDeleteThose jeans are so cute. I love the flowers on them and the pineapple on the hat.
ReplyDeleteI think that we are soul sisters. I still cut tags out of my clothing and I'm 62 years old. You look fabulous, and the sweater is to die for!

ReplyDeleteI love your cardigan! Not only that it's the perfect color (blue suits me best), but it also looks very warm and comfy in the same time. It would be perfect for the weather we have at the moment in England, -1 this morning... Brrr

ReplyDeleteLoving your outfits. Trendy leggings and stylish cardigan in my favorite color and super comfortable as I feel while watching your pics. You look pretty in this combo.
ReplyDeleteThe embroidery on the jeggings is so beautiful and adds such a fun vibe to the whole outfit..Love the cardigan also!
ReplyDeleteI also love the embroidery on the jeans. I used to have a similar pair and I remember wearing it for years.
ReplyDeleteHi Tanci! I love your outfit and how casual it looks! Comfort is also the first thing for me (now) I used to dress a little bit differently when I was younger.
ReplyDeleteI love wearing comfortable clothes. Like for me leggings are comfortable. My skin gets itchy when I wear jeans. Lol Anything that's uncomfortable gets taken off.
ReplyDeleteI can't wear leggings because of the itchiness. I usually have to do loose fitting jeans as well. I love this entire outfit especially the tunic.
ReplyDeleteOh I love this outfit, it actually look so comfortable but also really smart in its own right. I can't stand anyting that makes me itch either, comfort over style always! I've changed a lot in the way I dress over the years, I used to have a number of very low cut tops, I cringe thinking about it now.
ReplyDeleteI love comfortable and cozy looks. I like the jean look on the leggings so it makes you look more polished while still being comfortable and the embroidery makes them even better.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe those pants are leggings. They looks like jeans so much. I also really love the casual outfit, perfect for weekending.
ReplyDeleteThe vibe of this coffee place sure feels cozy! And so is your outfit, especially the cardi.
ReplyDeleteCute place.
ReplyDeleteVery instagrammable.
