We, unintentionally, had happen to choose a cold winter weekend, to stay at The Riven Inn, A Modus Hotel. This was our second stay at a Modus property, and having had a wonderful experience previously, we were looking forward to our stay.
We checked in late on a Friday evening, and were welcomed by their most hospitable staff. We were exhausted and hence, watched a little television and called it a night. Next morning we woke up to a cold, snowy D.C. morning. It is such a wonderful sight. The whole weekend was about enjoying the city, sipping hot chocolate, hiding from the cold and shopping for more layers, and then coming back to our spacious, comfortable room at The River Inn.
So instead of doing a same-ole-review I thought I will give you give good reasons to consider The River Inn for your next D.C. stay:
Location: Tucked away on a tree-lined street, The River Inn is a stone-throw-away from Georgetown. It strikes a perfect balance between relaxation and serenity, while still embracing the spirit of the city.
Rooms: It has upscale, spacious suites with ample space for long stays and families, both. The rooms have a full kitchen with a refrigerator, a desk with office space, a living room with a sofa bed, and large windows with panoramic views of the Potomac River or Foggy Bottom. What else could a room offer!
Staff: A special shoutout to everyone at the Front Desk and the restaurant. They were attentive, patience and had answers for whatever queries we might have. They were professional and courteous even during the peak hours.
Toiletries: The 'PURE' products especially their body lotion is one of my favorite so whenever I see it in any hotel I stay, I already like it a little more.
Yoga - The River Inn has a partnership with Georgetown Yoga which is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. They offer complimentary access to all their in-studio classes, which for me was the best amenity a property can offer.
If you are visiting D.C. or a DMV area resident looking for a cozy-comfortable stay, I would highly recommend the The River Inn.
I'll have to check it out the next time I'm visiting family! Thanks for the suggestion!
ReplyDeleteGood review. When one lives close to a metropolitan area like DC or NYC, it's easy to find fun places to visit on staycations.
ReplyDeleteStaycations are so fun! That hotel looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI like that this hotel has a yoga partnership as that's not very common. I don't seem to ever do staycations (unless going to Tahoe would be considered a staycation as it's a couple hours away), but maybe I should do them more often.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to D.C. that often, but this looks beautiful! I like the sound of the hotel partnering with a yoga place, especially the complimentary access!
ReplyDeleteOh! Looks so relaxing and fun! :) I totally would visit this location. :)
ReplyDeleteThe River Inn looks absolutely amazing! loved all your pictures, will def. try to go there!

I love the idea of a staycation! It’s a great way to get acquainted with a place. I’m a sucker for Georgetown I’ll definitely have to check this place out next time I visit.
ReplyDeleteThis really does look like a very enjoyable place to stay. D.C. is only a few hours drive for us, and we never had proper time together away from our children, this could possibly be just what we need.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a staycation, but I've never actually done one. Now I'm inspired to finally give it a try :)
