Do you get tired of same old, same old? I sure do. Even when it comes to travel. I cannot keep visiting similar places, or exploring them in the same way. I like to mix it up. I like adventure, and then some solitude and may be follow it up with a road trip and then spend a weekend in the country side. When can't decide on a new destination then head to New York, or do a staycation. You catch my drift. Below are some ways in which you too can break the monotony of travel:
Get out of your comfort zone
Dare to travel somewhere that might feel like a push, either due to distance, lack of familiar amenities, foreign languages spoken or challenging natural conditions.Leave fear behind
There tends to be a culture of fear around travel – particularly overseas. Ignore the noise. Dig down and face the challenges. Chances are they’ll be no more than minor inconveniences, such as getting lost or having to shake off a stranger who’s trying to be too friendly. Nothing you cannot handle, as long as you are alert and cautious.Go solo
Nothing opens the mind and heart to an experience like solitude. It may not always be easy, and there will undoubtedly be some lonesome, wistful moments, but it is these very moments that allow the adventure to unfold.Take the time to listen to your heart
Having a schedule is helpful, but taking your time, going with the flow and making unexpected choices from the heart are vital to connecting with oneself. Sometimes having zero plan is the best was to explore and unwind. How do you keep your travels fun and exciting?

ReplyDeleteI love the idea of having no plans. You always seem to find the coolest stuff that way, that you never even expected!
ReplyDeleteSometimes we need to just go with the flow and throw the plan out the window. I feel overwhelmed sometimes when I have a plan and I feel obligated to stick to it while on vacation.
ReplyDeleteGreat tips! I LOVE traveling with my husband- I don't want to ever travel without him. Not just because I feel safer, but because I love sharing the adventure and experience with him. Some of our favorite trips were ones that we did spur of the moment without a plan. There's just something exciting about doing things on a whim!
ReplyDeleteI don't like to visit the same place twice, if I don't have to. Although there are a couple places on my list that are definitely worth seeing more than once. But I like to experience new places. I can't travel solo though. I'm too much of a home body. When I travel alone, I get too comfortable staying inside the hotel, lol.

ReplyDeleteMy bf and I haven't had a proper travel trip per say, but we talked about how we want to keep each trip fruitful by working out some collaborations when we travel so that we are not just plainly spending money!
ReplyDeleteNow that is something I have no trouble with. We travel often and to different cultures. So we're always experienceing something new and different.
