This outfit is a good example of my style and shopping fundamentals, one that I have shared in my recent post How to find your personal style, and the second that I had shared last year in How to create a killer closet.
My personal style is comfortable and yet statement-making. However, it is without a big fuss or drama. I like to be myself, no matter what I am wearing or where I am. In terms of shopping, I shop with an agenda. I do not believe in 'retail therapy'. I purchase things with a purpose. Sometimes their purpose is to be useful for a short span of time and other times their purpose is to be by classic and stylish.
Below outfit is a good representation of how having versatile pieces in your closet will help you create numerous looks without breaking your bank account. For example, a couple of pieces in this outfit are between seven to four years old (shoes, bralet, clutch, necklace). Skirt is last year's purchase and the jacket is brand new. As a wardrobe stylist, I strongly recommend investing in pieces which are of good quality and fit as well as that you truly love.

Thank you! :)
DeleteI'm in love with all of it. I wish I could pull it off but until I get rid of this muffin top :/ I won't be able to wear that top! I'm working on it and when it happens I'm going to find a outfit just like this...
ReplyDeleteIt is actually about finding the right fit top and skirt and you would pull it off even today.
DeleteI remember this bralet and I always love it on you. You wear (and style) it so well. I have a ton of pieces in my closet that I've owned for years...and still love!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheryl. The less I shop, the more reason I have to use my existing wardrobe.
