Today's Gabbing With Tanvi episode is about one of my pet-peeves - Facebook! Can't live without it, and can't stand it. It a living hell. Do let me know your thoughts ... if you agree or disagree, in the comments below.

LAst Sunday I met my best fren after ages n this is was I was telling her. Ppl sharing anything n everything on FB is so annoying. I almost dread when special occasions like mothers day, valentines day, are approaching n try to keep away frm the my fb acct as much as I can. Its so annoying, its frustrating, its show off to a point that I can almost puke on my screen while reading those updates. N I thought I was the only person who thinks this way. thnks for feeling the same n sharing it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Aditi! Always good to know I have company :)
DeleteI think fb is annoying too, for all the politic and stories about how every in the world is whining about something, so many are not happy on fb, that makes me depressed.
ReplyDeleteSharing family, mothers and family, that is happiness, and I think its good for people to share their love with the world, mothers daughters, fathers fathers sons, husbands wives, sisters brothers, uncles aunts, grandfathers grandmothers, friends... Its all sharing LOVE with everyone.
Checking in, is good too, I think we feel annoyed is because we're not doing what the people who are doing something are doing, I want to do stuff, travel, and I like to see people check in, to share their trip so I get off my butt and travel! 💋 ♥
Love ya Tanvi
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I guess we all have different trigger points. That's what makes blogging so much more interesting. Xx
DeleteThis is the most pointless series of video blogs I have ever seen. Why on earth would anyone want to see and hear someone rant on camera? Ugh.. Such a waste of time.
ReplyDeleteChao, I'm off to make up for the time and brain cells I lost while watching this.
Not all content resonates with every reader. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts! :)
DeleteI understand your points. But FB, like all social media, is merely a tool; it's the use to which it's put that creates meaning (or doesn't). FB has a useful role for me as a forum to share a sanitized version of my life with people who aren't close friends. (My real friends read my blog and Twitter.)
ReplyDeleteI don't use Facebook other than for my blog, so it is merely a social media tool for my blog. It is good way to keep in touch with people but I don't necessarily want to know minute-to-minute update about their lives. Pleasure reading your thoughts as always! :)
DeleteI definitely have a love/hate relationship with FB too and basically just lurk and like posts. My husband is an avid FB user though and yes, he always checks us into places. But the useful part of checking in is that we have run into friends or discovered friends were at the same place when we look at check-ins. It's just another portal for us to look at each other's lives though and I am grateful to be able to witness the lives of friends and family that I don't normally see (even my elementary school best friend found me on Facebook!)
ReplyDeleteI guess, I haven't yet found the use of the "Check In" feature in my life. May be my opinion will change when I do. Thanks for stopping by, Aimee! :)
DeleteI don't think there is anything wrong in sharing stuff or checking in on FB. If I don't like such posts, or if it becomes too much, i can always 'Mute' that person's notifications! The technology is so advanced these days, that you see only what you want to see!
ReplyDeleteIt would take me triple the amount of time (to mute all the people) than it did to make this video. That's how many people on my timeline share their minute-to-minute updates. Primarily, I only log in for my blog-page. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Ritika!
DeleteHey great video..Love d fact that u had no make up on while shooting this video, now how many of us can do that :)
ReplyDeleteKeep shooting Tanvii :)
Me&MoM
FB can get on my nerves too sometimes! I never check in, because I don't want people knowing where I am, that TMI in my opinion. However, I am guilty of posting on Instagram this Mother's Day! But only this year, since I was estranged from my mum, and I no longer see her as often as I use to. Plus she's on Instagram, and the message was mainly for her, I rarely do this but this year I felt the need because of all that we've been through. Also, I like to use my Instagram as a way to post special/ significant times in my life, that way I can look back and reminisce!
ReplyDeleteGreat video!
Great video and cannot agree with you more! check out my post written way back in 2011 http://www.specs-buffy.blogspot.in/2011/10/poker-face.html
ReplyDeleteI don't disagree with your post. But FB is social media and there are lots of people with different concept to use or operate FB account. I use it as a platform of social sharing with my FB Page and invite few peoples to like my page to get updates about my posts, it may increase my blog readers or they may be genuine reader of my blog.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Nice post.
