You know how calling yourself a ‘geek’ or ‘a ‘nerd’ is
totally in vogue lately? I, for one, don’t get it. Probably, because I don’t consider
myself a nerd. I don’t have any of the qualities characteristics. Nerds remind
me of candy! and also of classmates from school days who seemed a tad-bit-boring and had not many interests except books and
what-ever-it-is-that-nerds-are-interested-in. I, on the other hand have such a
short attention span that I could not possibly be interested in any ONE thing
for a very long time. ‘Nerd’ is definitely not an adjective for me.
An opposite adjective to ‘nerd’ would be ‘cool’. Right? - Which
is a total bummer as I am not ‘cool’ either! For starters, to be ‘cool’ one
needs to have a real laid-back-easy-going-swagger which if you know me, I don’t
have even an ounce of! I have way too many OCDs and have proven one too many
times I am über hard on myself to ever be considered ‘cool’.
So what does that leave me with? Which box do I tick for
myself? Not that I want to put myself in a box, but it would be nice to know
which perceived box would others put me into. Ya’know what I mean?
