I Wish I Knew Better, Sooner

Ice Blue Colors Tanvii

Often I wish I knew better, sooner. Our thoughts and views are product of the world we are born into and
our upbringing. One continues to live and think within the same parameters until that mold is broken - Sometimes by choice, often by accident.

But what happens when you realize that there was so much more out there? Or that you have lived for so long believing in a boundary which was never meant to be in the first place? Or that the the rules you thought were etched in stone could have easily changed for better?

There are many things that I never had a chance to experience. And many that I never will. And for those missed chances I sometimes mourn. Somethings are meant to be done at a certain age or at a certain point in life. It is a pity that we cannot turn back time. But what is most amusing to me is that the
people, both who have those privileges and don’t often live in blissful ignorance. As for me, I stand by my first statement - I wish I knew better, sooner!

Nothing spectacular about today's outfit. Just some icy blue color tones on a mildly-cold winter Sunday. Currently I am obsessed with all shapes of cropped jeans/trouser. Let's see how far my obsession will take me.

  1. Pretty outfit and valuable reflection. We all limit our lives unnecessarily and, as you point out, don't realize that until later. But as long as we're still alive, there are opportunities to pursue joy and freedom. I have a list of dreams I've not given up on -- and don't mind being seen as the oldest guy doing young activities.

  5. I love the thoughts contained in this post. We really do limit ourselves artificially, and yes, we are all shaped by the little corner of the world we live in.

  10. Love your casual outfit especially the wrap, look super comfy and relax to wear and at the same time warm too. The hat is so cute and I think I need to get a similar hat like this as I do not have such hat.

  12. I would love to go back and tell myself so many things... though then I wouldn't have made the mistakes I needed to make. Those mistakes made me the person I am today.

  23. Love your outfit and the quote at the beginning of your post! But I also really love how you said missed chances you sometimes mourn. I feel that way sometimes too and I use to feel bad for it but I think it is okay for us to mourn missed chances. it's only natural!

  32. What a reflection, and well written girl. I didn't have a good childhood, and feel like I missed out on experiencing just the "normal" stuff most people did. As I've gotten older I've learned to deal with it, but it was definitely a challenge seeing all the things my friends got to see and do!

  37. That's certainly something I've considered on numerous occasions. I had a very conservative upbringing, and now I view things a lot differently. But I guess I'm also grateful for how I was raised, because I like who I am today - and it had a lot to do with that :)

  38. Love these thoughts and reminders girl!!

  39. What a fun and comfortable look. I love the handbag. So stylish

  40. Definitely understand what you mean about knowing better, sooner. Perspective. Sometimes I think to myself, I wish I had done that years ago instead of having to do it now (or even not getting the opportunity to do it at all).

Also, loving your new obsession with cropped denim!

  44. I have no idea of what this exactly mean to you Tanvi, as I don't know you personally. But I can relate to that mold you talk about. I mourn not having fought enough for what I wanted, I say to myself I was too young, what can a 13 year old do after all? now I think I could have fought and my life would have been totally different. But I was raised to shut up and accept. I wish I knew better, sooner!
Your outfit is gorgeous! I love the light blue, and your bag is just a dream!!
