What Is The Point Of It All

Fall Basics Tanvii.com

I haven't been sharing much on the blog this year (except for tips and travel content). Nothing intimate or personal at least. Nothing that gives you a glimpse into the inner working of my mind lately. I guess I have been wondering the point of it all. Also, often I feel I have said everything I had to. There are no new thoughts, just revised versions of the same old drafts that you might have already read if you have been around long enough.

I have also been flabbergasted by the dishonesty and irony in our society lately. Men who believe they are feminist, but would be the first to tell their wives what to do and wear. Women who expect other women to support them but do not lead by example. Influencers who feed lies and insecurity to people who look up to them. Family members who are the first ones to forward an inspirational quote but last one to follow up on it. So like I said, I have been wondering the point of it all.

Moving on to the outfit ... this is more or less the exact same outfit I wore at the start of spring. I hadn't realized until I was scrolling through my own posts and saw the post. Would you call this as personal style or a style rut, I wonder?

  3. Definitely helps to reflect every once and a while and ask yourself why you're doing what you're doing, who you're doing it for, etc. You bring up some really good points!

  5. I definitely understand your frustrations with all that's going on in society and on the internet these days. It can be very discouraging, and it's often resulted in me taking lengthy breaks from the internet. Now, as a blogger, I try to use my platform and voice for encouragement.

I hope your spirits are lifted soon and you are inspired once again.

Love the outfit, too :) As a new mom, I feel like all I do is wear the same thing over and over again, haha, so I think you have full permission to "repeat" a look. :)

  6. I'd love to read more of your thoughts - so while you feel as though you've said them all, I think it would be neat to hear them "revised" for this year, month, day, etc. That's what this kind of platform can be used for, right? I like realness and depth to bloggers, and I can tell you have that - which I appreciate greatly!

  10. I think that sometimes it good to be quiet and private. Life is complicated and sometimes we just need to work things out.

  15. Definitely understand your viewpoint! Truth is, this side of eternity is bleak, sad and sinful. There is certainly beauty and love, but my hope is after this life.

  16. I understand your malaise. Many of us feel it. My blogging declined last year for similar reason. Then, something happened which reminded me of why I like blogging and my enthusiasm returned. Perhaps that will happen for you, too. It helps to reach out and touch the world because that often stimulates us in profound ways. Isolating ourselves merely deepens our inertia. Good luck.

  18. Definitely get where you are coming from! I recently took a little break to reflect and reevaluate - think that's important from time to time. We all need to step back and remember what the point is!

  19. There's been times this year I've felt uninspired or frustrated with it all, but in the end blogging should be fun (at least for me) and the love of it always comes back!
