What Lifts You

My heart has been filled with gratitude for a while now. One of the recent reasons is this book. But even before I read that book, I had been thinking about how exceptionally calm and at peace I feel with my life lately.

I spend all of my energy in pursuing my passions and conquering my shortcomings. I am not hassled by anyone's opinion of me. I do not spend a single moment lending unasked for advice. It does not concern me what anyone is doing in their professional or personal life. I mind my own business, in the real sense of that phrase.

I believe in setting good intentions out there and following them up with constructive actions, without any expectations. I know that was a mouthful, but it is my truth. I am thankful for everything I have. And everything I don't have. I have come to a realization that things come to me when I am ready for them, and if they never do, then they were never right for me in the first place. I am thankful for the peace of mind, a content heart, and a stable life. I am also thankful for books and movies for that's what lifts me*, when I am down! (*See last picture for reference

  1. Hmm...it sounds as if you have found a very peaceful balance for life and good way to live. I am practicing being in the moment, living for now and having a life that is juicy and full and makes sense for me. It takes time but I think gratitude will be something I add to my daily routine.

  17. I'm so happy to hear that you have found "YOU" Tanvi. That's such a special feeling, treasure it and own it always. And that sari you're wearing is gorgeous, BTW. Yellow and turquoise have got to be my favorite colr combination EVER and that bag. Love, love, love. I would never wear it, just make a big box frame and put it on display so everyone could admire it.

  19. Me too. I am at peace with my life and I think that comes with age and gaining a strong sensemble of self. When you begin to not worry about other people's opinions and you live your life the way you want, you find true happiness. I think as long as you are good to people and treat everyone with kindness, you'll find happiness.
