I Think I Might Have A Problem

Greenwich Village Tanvii.com

I have a serious problem guys. I really do. All I think about is books. Every day I add a few to my list, and the list keeps growing. I am starting to worry that I will not have enough time (in life) to get through all the books that I want to read.

I have reached a point where I make social decisions based on the book I am reading at the time. If meeting someone or networking will take a total of five hours (door-to-door) versus I could spend the same amount of time reading a book and finish half of it, rest assured the book always wins!

While driving I listen to audio books, when on-the-go (waiting time, travel time, etc.) I read digital books and when I home I read physical books. At any given point I am reading three to four books. It is starting to look like an obsession, but one where people do not seem to worry about me.

Unlike most people, I do not even have a genre of preference. I read EVERYTHING. If it is a good book, I will read it. Period. I had set a goal of reading 25 books this year, then I realized I had already read about 38. So now I am decided to push the goal to 52 books (one for each week of the year). So far I have read 41 books. Also have re-read one book which does not count in that total. 11 more to go ...

Moving on to the outfit ... this is what I wore last week while I was in NYC and the temperature decided to drop and I was forced to layer dress over jeans (again) since I was not adequately prepared.

  1. Lol! I love to read too but with 5 kids, I'm still reading the first book since February! I may have to devote my week to finishing it now!

  2. One can never have enough books in my humble opinion. Nothing beats cuddling up with a fur baby and getting lost in the pages of a good story or reading about worlds and places that we may never see for real. It's soooo much better than watching a movie or have meaningless conversations over a cup of coffee. Give me a good book any day

  3. Unprepared yet still stylish! Kudos to you for being able to read so many books. 52 is a great goal -- you'll probably break it at this pace. I wish I could read everything, but some genres just don't do it for me. I actually tend to read the most when I travel (physical books), but I love having audio books as well because sometimes I want to continue with the story without having to use my eyes, lol.

  4. I have the same problem! But then my list gets so long that I find it impossible to actually pick which book on the list I want to read. The struggle is real.

  6. I never think of audio book but they would be great. Like you listen to it when you do other things. I also have the same problem. I add books to my list and then there are too many. Another things is that I buy many books and the decide I am not in the mood for reading them and buy other books ahah

  7. I read everything also. I dont have a big preference. Well that may not be entirely true, I dont prefer horror or anxiety inducing books so they'd be the last thing Id pick up. Still, generally speaking, I dont have a favourite genre!

  8. 52 books a year is incredible! It takes me forever to get through one. But just think how much knowledge and possible ideas you are constantly soaking up, I don't think a book obsession is terrible at all :)

  10. Wow - I am so amazed at the amount of books you're able read each year. That's incredible! What are are some of your most recent favorites? I love reading as well, though the majority of my books are audiobooks as of late; I listen to them when walking the dog, cooking, cleaning, driving to work, etc.

  12. I love reading in my spare time. Reading is fundamental, and I agree with the above comment, it's a great problem to have. I try to carve out as much time as possible to read for me, and I am always looking for new books to read.

  13. That's a good problem to have! I don't read books nearly as much as I used to. I should make that a resolution for 2018! I do read multiple articles online daily & still try to read magazines (that should also be part of my resolution). BTW, what a great way to improvise when the weather throws a wrench in your fashion plans!

  15. Cute. I really like the scarf. I am not sure how anyone can read more than one book at a time. That being said - I devour books - just one at a time. I know a lot of people do it, I just can't
