Sustainable Clothing Movement

prAna Tanvii.com
Thank you prAna for sponsoring this post.

As I continue to become more aware and informed about my surroundings and how my actions have long term effect on this world and it's sustainability, I also continue to find brands which are championing the same cause.

That is exactly why I am so excited to collaborate with prAna for today's post. It is a brainchild of Beaver and Pam Theodosakis who started the brand in their garage in Carlsbad, California back in 1992. While failing to find stylish and sustainably made clothes, they decided to sew their own pieces, labeled them with tags made from homemade recycled paper, and shipped their orders in fruit boxes from local grocery stores.

Today the brand has international operation and while offering sustainable, recycled, fair trade certified and hemp items they also partner with both local and international charities to help make a difference and continue to find ways to serve our community.

However, truth be told, we all purchase clothes to look good more than do good. And that is a fair expectation from a clothing brand! That is why what I appreciate most about prAna is their design and quality. Their styles not only look good but are also versatile enough for any lifestyle and any adventure. You could wear prAna to work or to go for a hike. And as someone who is a big fan of cotton I like that prAna is all about organic cotton. I would urge you to watch this video about "Why Organic Cotton Matters"

In today's post I am featuring two pieces from prAna's collection. First is the Filament Tank. I was impressed not only by it's quality and style but also it's perfect fit. It provides adequate support, is comfortable and the adjustable lace up detail makes it perfect for low impact activities.

Second is the Ryley Crop pants with wide waist band and pockets. They are not only comfortable but the Veeda fabric makes for a super soft and stylish look. They work well in a wide range of temperature making them ideal for workout and travel both.

I am glad that brands like prAna are taking their social responsibility seriously. And while prAna clothing is made to accommodate any adventure, the items are first and foremost mindfully made in order to support fair trade and sustainable practices. prAna actually has only one core belief, and that is to give back more than we take from the world. I hope that the brand's message resonates as much with you as it does with me. You can use the code: F17CGTR to receive extra 15% off your order. The code is valid until October 22nd.

  2. Your tank is extra cute! I've been starting to look into sustainable clothing. It's crazy how disposable clothing has become.

  20. What you said about we all buying clothes to look good more than do good hit close to home and made me feel guilty. You're right and what this brand is doing is amazing, we all need to support these brands that are actually doing something to save the world we live in.
