Making Memories With Girlfriends

Ever since I got back from my favorite city I cannot stop thinking about it. It was such a wonderful week. I had gone to meet a few of my high-school friends. We had planned a girl's week (not just a weekend!) of doing nothing except chatting, checking out new neighborhoods, breaking for tea and then continuing to do the same thing all over again. It was so blissful. So different. Believe it or not I had never gone away with friends before so it was interesting for the woman in me, insightful for the writer in me and liberating for the homemaker in me.

I wouldn't say we all went back to being 100% of high-school-selves but we were the best version of our high-school and current-selves. Naturally since our husbands (and a kid) wasn't around it didn't feel we were married. Before leaving for the trip I had contemplated whether it would be weird, or would we run out of things to talk (since we had never been together 24 hours with undivided attention with each other). It was smooth sailing. It was wonderful. Now we cannot wait to do it all over again. This time by the beach though!

We hired a photographer to capture an afternoon in our week, just so we have proof of that we actually went on this trip.
