Changing Eating Habits

Healthy Lifestyle, Changing Eating Habits,

Another Wednesday. Another video. Today I am following up with from my last post, where I shared our recent meal options. In this video, I am sharing why I decided to do a NO SUGAR, NO STARCH, NO DAIRY experiment and how it has affected my eating habits, over the last couple of weeks. This is NOT a diet. I have not read any research or book. This is something I came up for myself via an clip I saw on television one afternoon. Watch the view for more details.

Please note that I am not advocating this lifestyle for everyone. I needed to kick start a healthy lifestyle and this worked for me. However, if you have dietary restrictions or healthy issues, I would suggest you talk to a doctor before trying this.

I have already shared my meals, but below are some natural foods that I have tried and incorporated in my diet in order to detox and cleanse the liver:

- Citruses such as lemons, limes and grapefruits help the cleansing of the liver because their high content of vitamin C. They also produce enzymes that aid to the elimination of toxins.

- Vegetables such as leafy greens, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, are good options which help activate enzymes necessary in the process of eliminating toxins

- Healthy Fats in walnuts and avocados help the production of glutathione – an essential compound that your body produces in order to get rid of the toxins

- Turmeric (spice) also helps to get rid of toxins, when consumed either in foods or by taking capsules that contain it

My goal for 2016 is to change your lifestyle to something which is healthy but also attainable. After a month of following this new regime I feel positive that this is something which I can sustain for a foreseeable future.

  1. Wow I really admire you for being able to take care of yourself. Every single day in my head I think that I'm going to start working out from today but just doesn't happen

  2. Love it. We live Low Carb - Keto for the last 8 years with some stops in between. I do know exactly what food does to us.

  3. I admire you a whole lot for being able to make those changes! I'm trying to get to that point and slowly making progress.

  4. I really need to do this! I have been trying to eat better foods and more natural foods so I really like your list!

  5. I've cut out refined sugars in 2018. They are so addicting and something I'm just better with out. I'm a believer the more whole foods...plant based items you can consume, the better!
