July 2013 in Review

July was blazing hot! You can tell from the outfits. The below-freezing temperature right now has me wishing for the "heat wave"!
P.S. Looks like #7 in June was the most popular one. It got 40% (plus) votes as opposed to my favorite aka #5 which got a measly 10% (something) votes.

Featuring: Howrah Bridge

Howrah Bridge is a brand I have been a fan of for the longest time. I have worn it time and again on the blog (see below). The designer behind this brand has been a long time blogging friend. You can learn more about her here

What I love the most about it are the fun and quirky prints. All my purchases have been love at first sight! I see them as one-of-a-kind investment pieces which I will wear time and again (provided my size remains the same! *fingers.crossed*). Have a look at the curate collection here

How To Clean Your Face With Oil

If someone had told me a while back that you could wash your face with olive oil I would've called them crazy straight to their face. I mean come on my t-zone is oily enough, why would I put oil on top of oil?
DON'T be afraid of applying oil to your face. Oil, alone, will not bring you blemishes. Pimples, blackheads, & whiteheads are caused by different things including hormones, bacteria & dead skin cells.
The thing is, when you use soap or cleanser on your skin, you are stripping your skin of its natural oils. But those oils have a purpose - they make your skin softer and more supple and they provide a protective layer to keep dirt out of your pores. Oil pulls out the gunk and debris from your pores and moisturizes your skin. It can remove excess oil, but it doesn't throw your skin out of balance. Just remember all skin types are different. My skin loved it, hopefully yours will too! P.S. Feel free to switch your oils. Coconut and almond oil is a great replacement.

Boho in Fall

... continuing with our 9 Questions: Sunday!

1) Describe your morning routine.
Wake up -> Freshen Up -> Go to the Gym -> Get ready for work -> Have breakfast -> Head to work
2) Where is your happy place?
Being home alone on a weekday
3) Your dream superpower?
To eat what I want and not gain an ounce
4) The 10th book on your shelf?
My books are organized randomly, hard to pick a 10th book
5) TV show you’d like to live in?
The Good Wife
6) Your “take all my money!” store?
Selfridges, London
7) Food you crave after midnight?
Chocolate
8) Your most valuable failure?
I haven't failed at anything. Everything has been part of the journey.
9) Your stance on jeggings?
If you've got the legs then why not?!
It has been 0° Celsius all weekend and while I did dress up for a stand up comedy (Whitney Cummings is SO funny, y'all!) I didn't have the physical ability or even remote-interest in posing for pictures. I do not know how bloggers in cold places take outfit shots!
Anyhoo, this outfit is from the previou weekend.

June 2013 in Review

June was a pretty diverse month. We had a little bit of everything, right? Let me know which one was your favorite.
P.S. As for May - #9 was the most popular outfit and #4 was my favorite which was again the second most voted outfit. Thanks for playing along everyone. We are half way through the reviews.

False Eye Lashes: EcoTools

I had recently received two sets of lashes from EcoTools (via Klout). Halloween seemed like a good day to give one of them a try. [Since I do not apply much make-up on daily basis, I thought using false lashes of ALL things on any other day would seem a bit much! Don't you think? (;].
I was expecting some struggle in application and a potential-messy-disaster. However, quite on a contrary it was rather simple, easy and quick (to my surprise!). The lashes stayed put for good 12 hours or so till I got back home, and did not bother or weigh down my eyes. If you are looking for a pair of falsies these are worth a try.
I am wearing Barely There Lashes - $5.99
This is not a sponsored post. However, I was provided with these lashes for no-cost for my personal use. The opinions mentioned are my own.

How To Wear A Tusk Pendant

I have styled this Orange Ella Tusk Necklace via Shop Jami over and over again this year. I received it back in January and have not had enough of it ever since. At first look I didn't really think it would be as versatile as it has proven to be.

P.S. While I am using this tusk pendant/necklace as an example you can essentially apply these same style tricks with any chunky-statement-making pendant.

Playing against the color of the cardigan and the blouse, the pedant is the only accessory i needed to complete the look. Its sharp and professional at the same time.
This is my favorite and go-to-style mantra - play with contrasts! Nothing in this outfit is "matching" the orange pendant (not counting the background, of course, as that was pure co-incidence), but I wanted to break the colors of the outfit with just one single stroke.
Since the outfit was in the shades of blue, I thought orange would be a good complimentary color and as far as I am concerned it was!
Prom, TxSC13, Arm Party, Tanvii.com, Burberry, ASOS, Michael Kors, MAC Lady Danger
Well, this is where I am trying to 'match' the accessories with the outfit. Playing with metallics and orange here. It was an unexpected color combination but the risk paid off.

Here I am playing off the color of the bag and matching the pendant to my watch. I thought it brought the outfit together.

May 2013 in Review

May was when the summers arrived and we transitioned from the winter wardrobe, clearly documented by the majority of outfits in bare legs.
P.S. As for April, #1 was the most voted for outfit and #7 was my favorite which was in the second place (just like February!)

This is something fun we are doing here today.
My super-multi-talented-brother-in-law, who has an ├╝ber-popular blog by the name of Aspi's Drift (all Indian-art-movie-and-music-buffs should definitely check it out!) has been kind enough to created this 'spot-the-difference' quiz for me [well ... for y'all mostly! (;]
There are a total of 10 differences between the ORIGINAL (top pic) and the EDITED (bottom pic) version of this photo.
Wouldn't you give it a shot (for fun!) and see how many you can spot? Everyone who spots ALL 10 enters the draw to win a surprise gift from Crazy & Co.
The comments are OPEN for this post but only will be visible once everyone has answered.
Eeeeeee! So excited! (:

April 2013 in Review

April was a good mix of colors and styles. Wouldn't you agree? I think the weather might have gotten better hence the arrival of dresses. Let me know below which one was your favorite from this month.
P.S. As for, in the month of March, #3 & #4 have been neck-to-neck although my favorite was #8.

How To Get That Ass

Everyone has a favorite body part to workout. For men it is mostly upper body and for women it is the lower body (it is, at least for me). I love working-out my legs and bum. On the days when I don't do legs I feel I haven't worked out at all. I am always up for a legs workout that I haven't tired. However, below is a basic-workout-routine. Nothing too hard or too fancy. If you are consistent with it, you would definitely see your butt change!

Beauty Talk: All My Eyeliners

Best Eyeliners, Tanvii.com, Beauty, Make Up
1. Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen: I use this for the winged eye (cat-eye-look). The pen stays steady while applying and last through the day without smudging or fading. I had used it here and here, recently on the upper lid.
2. Hashmi Kajal: It is only available in India/Pakistan (as far as I know). It is great for creating a sharp yet dramatic look. I like to use it when I am going for a deep-thick-under-lid-look. I had used it here recently and here earlier this year on the lower lid.
3. Maybelline EyeStudio Master Drama: I like the soft tip of this pen and find it great for when trying to apply the liner close and soft on the upper lid. I had used it here and here recently.
4. Revlon Luxurious Color Smoky Crayon: As the name suggests, this one is is great for doing the smoky eye or a smudged-liner look (which I look). I had used it here.
5. Benefit BADgal: This one is probably the oldest and the most trusted liner I have been using for over 10 years. It is waterproof and lasts the whole day. I have used it probably in 70% of my posts but definitely here and here, on the lower lid.
If there is an eye liner you trust, do let me know.
That's the only beauty product I use daily!

Indian Style Decoded

Have I over-done the Indian-wear outfit posts? Well, even if I have ... who cares! (;

... so today I thought I would decode my Indian-wear style. I believe, the best way to stand out of the crowd in ethnic wear is to avoid everything with embellishments, heavy work, and atrocious stones and bling.
  • I like simplicity, flattering cut, and pleasing colors e.g. this and this
  • I favor natural fabrics, indian work and vintage clothing e.g. this and this
  • Lastly, the overall weightless-ness of an outfit is an absolute must for me e.g. this and this
While I believe I am equally experimental in my Indian-wear as I am in my western-wear, but I am definitely a borderline nationalist when it comes to my choices regarding the former.

Since I wore a Saree on last Diwali, I thought I will switch it up with year with a suit.
