I am Snigdha and I have been following your blog for quite some time and really like your style. More than that I love the way you write and keep your readers engaged. We have exchanged a few tweets in the past.
In the photos I have styled my floral shirt with my denim shorts and also a pair of trousers. In my opinion anything flower print is a perfect spring/summer outfit and looks great. I have kept the other accessories minimal as the flowers can be bit over powering. The pics are from my recent holiday in Santorini, Greece.
Snigdha, firstly you have me dreaming of Greece and those stunning locales. You lucky girl! This is a great follow-up post to my floral top. I like how you have remixed your closet for travel. That's the best time to get your creative cap on! Who, after all, wants to pay excess luggage, right? While I like both the looks a lot, I am drawn to the shorts the those orange flats a tad-bit more simply 'coz of the weather here in Texas. And also 'coz you are looking smoking hot in that look! Thank you for sending in your pictures. Catch you on twitter! ;)
For those who are new here: This is a segment where my readers get to share their style or ask for suggestions (if they need any!) from all my readers. So if you have been inspired by my blog then Email me your outfit pictures for this feature. If anyone wishes to stay Anonymous just say the word. I post this feature every alternate Friday.
This is my 700th post ... I know, right??! :)
Anyhoo, in other news ... Dr. Fab and I, will complete five blissful years of married life next month. I cannot believe it has been that long, 'coz I remember this day, like it was yesterday! Time flies ... and since we like long celebrations, we have already started the countdown.

Metallics are in full bloom lately. While incorporating this trend in clothing and day wear might not be for everyone, but one can take baby steps and start with accessories and jewelry.
Metallic Tote - Great for a shopping day and traveling. A hold-it-all-bag which is also stylish! Win-Win.
Bangles & Bracelets - Mix a couple of dainty bangles for a lunch with the girls, or layer few chunky bracelets for a chic-boho-vibe.
Metallic studded belt - They are versatile and can easily turn an informal look in to a formal one.
Loafers or Ballet Flats - Stylish and comfortable pick for everyday wear and travel. They can make anything look cute -pants, jumpers, shorts.
Watches - The chunkier the better! - They add the right amount of metallic glam and can practically be worn with everything.

I have been browsing through my old posts a lot lately. Re-reading them and assessing how far I have come and how my thoughts have changed. Something I have realized (and so have some of my old readers!) that I used to write much opening and bluntly before. Lately it is a diluted and subtle version of my my real thoughts (and yet! some of you think my writing is harsh). The thing is that if you were to meet me in person I would not share my thoughts and opinions with you. Hell! I wouldn't even give you an advice even if you asked for it. I have learnt that no one really wants to hear the truth. They just want you to tell them what they already believe in. In a way 'approve' of their thoughts and actions. And I am someone who wouldn't say something unless she meant it. While I do not apologize for my opinions, I do not even try and change other people's either. One has to live with themselves, so whatever rocks your boat is fine with me. What I am not interested in is a tug-of-war with someone who either doesn't know a thing about he/she is imparting wisdom on or in the past has proved incapable of 'agreeing to disagree'. So I only find it amusing that how my blog could easily portray an absolutely opposite picture of who I think I might be in real life. For I share more in my writing than I ever would in person. Which could also mean that my writing is more honest than I am as a person. In turn, as a reader, you know me more than someone who knows me in real life.
... Nice to meet you too! :)
In other news, ... I liked 'today'. It was a good day. I was productive, active, positive, and creative. What a rare combination, right? I marked the date on my journal. Will look back at it on a crappy day!

Earlier this month we organized a challenge at InFB to use minimum of 5 colors and create a project - Outfit, Make up, Art, anything. Now going for an outfit with 5 or more colors is hardly a challenge for me, right? I mean, my every second outfit is a fricking rainbow. So I thought of bringing back my childhood hobby - art and painting.
The afternoon spent working on this piece was
one of the most fun afternoon I have had in my 30's!
- when people are performing well professionally or doing something to bring a change in society, to which no one can oppose or say something negative about, the jealous-bitter-people always resort to personal digs?
- people who stay forever young are the ones who live in present and laugh a lot?
- people who start ahead in the race are often not the winners?
- life seems harder when we over-think and over-complicated it?
- I like saying things in bullet point? ;)

My current love is - Dancing. Zumba, Salsa, and Hip Hop. Dancing is one form of exercise which makes me feel beautiful. The world suddenly become a wonderful place where everything is possible. O! that was kinda-philosophically-poetic! :P
Some of the
- Stronger obliques
- More definition in my abdominal area
- Improved posture
- Sexy shoulders
- Improved metabolism
- Better balance
Dance is definitely a total-body-workout! If going to the gym isn't not your thing then I highly recommend this.
P.S. Everyone who asked for more "Fitness" posts - I am posting about Health & Fitness every alternate Friday at the moment. With everything that this blog is about, that's the best I can do.
The best part of asking people to tell you what they do/don't like about you (or the blog in this case) is the amount of data you get to write about in the future posts. I cannot wait to bore you guys with posts as lengthy as essays on things you have said in the survey. I kid!
On a serious note, Thank you EVERYONE who took time to give me their feedback (It is open till Monday, June 25th). I REALLY appreciate it. I WILL try and incorporate your suggestions as much as I can (The Search this Blog feature has been added as per the request. Find it on the top left corner). However, a common theme, just like the last time, is that there is one person who likes and another one who doesn't like that exact same thing (except for technical stuff). Lesson: You cannot please everyone! And I aint even trying.

For the longest time that I can remember, I have been a 'save-a-holic'. Ever since our mother started giving us (brother & myself) pocket money, a mere Rs. 5.00 ($0.027) or so, per week. That was back in 1993-94. From the beginning, she asked us to note down in our journals, where and how we spent it. I never wanted to see a '0' in the balance, so I always ended up saving no matter what. Also, I wanted Mom to feel proud of me. This continued all of my school life. Sometimes, I would try and save all my money and instead ask Dad to give a little for the daily expenses. I was not trying to cheat anyone, I just wanted to continue seeing my 'mini' bank balance grow. To cut long story short, "saving" eventually became a habit.
During late teenage years when all girls can think of is shopping and buying clothes, I too pretended to be a 'shop-a-holic'. Well, it was the 'cool' thing to do. I didn't want my friends to think I was a miser or didn't enjoy shopping. There were times when I did indulge, but always felt terribly guilty about it. And then there were other times when I simply resisted by makes excuses. I don't mean to paint a picture that I did not enjoy shopping. I did. And I still do. I like dressing up, wearing all kinds of cool and quirky stuff. But the thing is - I always have a list, and a budget of sorts. And I feel better about my purchases when they are on my own terms and not under peer-pressure ...Thankfully down the years that habit had continued ...
On 15th June (two days ago) I completed the three months of self-imposed shopping ban. So now what? Am I going to go shop? Yes, of course. I will. But I have a list and the shopping Gods are being kind to me, 'coz most of the items on my 'list' are on SALE now. So I guess, in the end patience (and savings!) paid off. Not literally though!
