No. No. I am not giving away these shorts as a Giveaway. That is just a lame title [:P] This is the first time I am am wearing shorts in this season. Don't know about rest of the world but it is actually summers here in Texas. Not Spring, but Summer! By the way, I do not like how this outfit is looking in the pictures. Royal Wedding & Chow Mein

My cousin (Meetu D) made the following request on my previous post
Tanvi, I have been thinking of you all week. As you know, the royal wedding is happening in London, and it's the same city that you love so much! How about if we pretend that Her Majesty has ordered you to attend the royal nuptials and partake of the reception serving quail eggs and truffle crudites. What would you wear to meet Will and Kate? Please post some pictures!

Jimmy Choo, Jimmy Choo

Since I have spring in my step I was instantly attracted to this yellow gown. Also, what I have gathered from my secret sources (Hi Sherin!) is that, it is, in fact a glorious spring (borderline summer) in London this year. So this is what I would wear to the Royal Wedding, had I been invited. What would you wear?

Now some Food for Thought, ... and then some real food [:P] -

I am not going to start with why I started this blog and all the drama behind it. I have already narrated it! If you missed it, too bad! Only kidding, if you want you can read it here

No matter how lonely or alone I feel sometimes, but that feeling definitely doesn't last for long. As crazy and clichéd it might sound but the blog makes me feel connected to so many people. Everyone stops by, leaves their positive energy filled with compliments and concern (even if it might not always be earnest, but I am not gonna dwell on that fact for now :P). Meghna's comment on my previous post changed the course of my Monday, which made me realize that you never know how you might affect someone's thoughts or day!?! It is really an enigma that as individuals we have that kind of power ... to make or break someone's day! Don't know about ya'll, but I for one am loving the sound of this power. I think I am gonna hang on to it ... and pass is forward ... Thanks, Meghna!

Now, time for some Indian Style Chow Mein

Ingredients
1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil
1 Tablespoon of Tomato Paste (optional)
2 Teaspoons of White Wine Vinegar
2 Teaspoons of Soy Sauce
2 Serrano Peppers (chillies) chopped
2 Cups of Noddles
2 Cups of Shredded Cabbage
1/2 Bell Pepper chopped
1/2 Small Onion finely chopped
1 Small Tomato chopped
1/3 Cups of Peas
Pinch of salt

1. Boil the cup of peas, drain the water and keep aside.
2. Boil the noodles, and keep aside
3. Sautée onions, tomato and serrano peppers in olive oil
4. Add tomato paste and continue to sautée
5. Add peas, chillies, bell peppers and a pinch of salt and continue to sautée
6. Make sure you don't over cook the vegetables else they get too soft
7. Add Cabbage in the end and
8. In less than a minute add the noodles and mix well

In India we have our own version of the Chow Mein. It tastes nothing like what an authentic Chinese noodles might taste, but we sure love it! Everyone has their own version and recipe too. I am sure the Chinese would feel the same way about their cuisine being transformed in India, as Mexicans feel about their cuisine being transformed in the rest of the world [as Tex-Mex]. N.B.You can add a lot of other vegetables to this as well, I added what I already had at home! :)

P.S.
Stay tuned for tomorrow. We have another giveaway coming up & it is open to everyone!

Overboard with it...

Tee - Men's from UO [10']; Pants - GAP [11']
Necklace - Gift [Mom 10']; Shoes - Steve Madden [10']

O.K. - O.K. I'll say it, before you do ... I did go a little over board with the pictures in this post. Usually I try and post under 5 pictures per post but what can I say, I am in love with my Green Pants. Let the world go gaga over the pinks and the yellows, but I love me some dark green. Especially coz they fit like a dream and I got them for a bargain [15 bucks (Yay!)]. Now you would? understand why I have already worn them three times in less than a month (here and here), wouldn't you? ... On a 'heavier' note, if you are a regular here then you know that I haven't been able to articulate my thoughts, lately. Well, thankfully, this tweet via Ambuji last week, describes my exact state of mind ...

Enough about me .... How was your weekend, guys?

On a Cloudy Day

My main aim only aim in life has been, to keep it simple. And I mean real. simple. Like 'have food on the table, roof on my head and happiness in my heart' kinda simple. However, no matter how simple I keep it, life always finds a way to get entangled. Life gives me lemons, I make lemonade and God knows, I have enough lemonade to around half the world population! Anyhooo, I really do not have much to say lately. It is like someone came and robbed me of my thoughts and vocabulary. While I figure out how to get back on the happy-go-lucky-carefree-wagon you guys go on and enjoy the pictures! Do leave behind some positive energy ... won't ya!

This is the second photo-shoot I did with my brother.
First was here which I posted last month!

How to wear Pearls casually?

Reader's Request
This request is from my sweet and supportive sister-in-law (husband's cousin) - Soomya! She is a complete fashion fanatic and a recent (proud!) Graduate of London College of Fashion. Recently, in one of London's Vintage shops she got her hands on some Vintage Chanel Pearl Strings (lucky girl!) and asked me if I could show her some ways to style them in contemporary and modern ways. Well, since I do not have any Chanel or otherwise pearls of my own I had to take help of some fashion collages. N.B. To find details of any of the products featured in the collages, simply click on them. They are connected to their online retail site.

Fred Flare, Banana Republic, Dooney & Bourke

This would be my take on styling the pearls for a Lunch, may be? Paired with a summery white dress worn with a belt and splashes of red

MICHAEL Michael Kors, Bebe, Lilly Pulitzer

Here I plan to wear the gorgeous [preferably Chanel! :P] pearls with a bright pink dress and edgy high heels for an evening date or dinner or maybe both

Juicy Couture, Ed Hardy, See by Chloe, Paige

This is more of a casual way to wear the pearls with a flared dark denims and crisp white shirt and a tan bag. Ideal for shopping, or coffee?

Camilla Skovgaard, Nordstrom, Michael Kors

Skinny Black pants with a flattering pink top and high heels. More of a classic evening-out look finished with a dash of pearls! What say? :)

NYLA, Jonathan Saunders

This is out and out edgy slash rockstar look with color-blocked dress and even edgier booties. However, here I mixed so-to-say my pearls with some metal chains to give it a 'Rihanna' take!

How do you all wear your pearls?

Hope this post helps you
Soomya! Do let us all know, how you finally decided to wear them. We would wanna see those Chanel pearls for sure! :)
