Delicious Blueberry Smoothie

Never work before breakfast; if you have to work before breakfast,
eat your breakfast first. -Josh Billings

I am a breakfast person. Yes, I am! But I cannot eat or even serve the same thing everyday. Hence I try to cook/blend different things not only for lunch & dinner but also for breakfast. That is why I wake up early. No matter what time I sleep I am up by 6:00am and ready-steady-go!

I do not know who said it but I agree -
There will be enough time to sleep once you are dead!
Ingredients1/2 Cup of Fat Free Milk
1/3 Cup of Blue Berry Flavored Yogurt
1 and 1/2 Teaspoon of Ground Flaxseed
1 and 1/2 Teaspoon Honey
1 Handful of Blueberries

Add Milk, Yogurt, Flaxseed, and Honey in the grinder and blend on medium speed.
Once blended add the blueberries and blend on high speed.
Ready to serve!

How Thoughtless!

No thoughts!
No wisdom to impart
No whining either!

Finally, a day when I have nothing to say!
Imaaagine that?

So why don't we just move on to the pictures and call it the day then?

Sandwich happens to be my go-to-food. When I do not have time or when I am not in the mood to cook I quickly fix myself a juicy-crunching-delicious sandwich ['coz if I don't I will only end up eating a load of junk and a sandwich is much better than that].

Yes! I deserve it!

So here's what's on my mind today ...

I am someone who takes responsibility for everything that happens to me in my life. I never blame God, or my parents or anyone for how things have turned out in my life so far. Luckily, I have had the 'liberty' to make most of my decisions and the 'luck' that they turned out fine. [And anyone, who believes in the concept of 'luck' also has to believe in its main characteristic - unreliability!]

The point I am making is that I believe everyone has a choice to do or not to do something. No one can force you to do anything [unless you are at gun point!]. If you choose to do something you do not want to then you are either not courageous enough to stand up for yourself or have a good reason for doing it [which again makes it - your choice!]

So when I am ready to take responsibility for the 'bad' that happens to me, it makes me wonder why can't I own up to the 'good' that happens to me as well? I think it is a little hypocritical to label it as 'good fortune' or 'blessings' always. Why can't I just say that - Yes! I deserve it! I sure as hell have no problem saying it when something 'unfortunate' happens.

I do not mean to sound ungrateful for everything that I have. It is just a thought, that if I am responsible for all the bad, then I should be responsible for all the 'good', equally.

You know what I mean? No? Well, never mind, just enjoy the pictures then! :o)

Questions & Answers

A fellow fashion-blogger at Beautifully Invisible last week tagged me for a Questions & Answers session.

Her blog has a Daily Dose of Inspiration, controversies in the fashion world, update on upcoming trends ...and more ... with a dash of her witty comments! If you haven't check it out yet, what are you waiting for? Rushhhh now! Here, Click it!

Question - If you weren't blogging about fashion, what would you be blogging about instead?
Answer - I recently started blogging about fashion, until last year the blog was mostly about fitness, health and my random ramblings. Even now, it varies from food, fitness, films, etc. but fashion has sort of become one of the main focuses purely due to its popularity and passion!

Question - Who was your most embarrassing crush?
Answer - I have thought about this really hard, but I cannot think of any embarrassing crushes. I have had a lifetime crush on Salman Khan and a high-school crush on Hrithik Roshan [Indian Actors] which doesn't seem to fizzle off with time ...

Question - If you were stranded on a desert island and allowed one "luxury' from home, what would you bring with you and why?

Answer - If I ever had a premonition that I am going to be stranded on an island and could take something with me I would take a couple of pens and notebooks [in case the ink finishes and I am there for like really 'forever']. In real life I am so distracted and this blogging really sucks the time out of my life, so I am guessing a stranded island is what it will take for me to write a book!

 - The last book you read was...

Answer - This is so embarrassing! The last book I read was way back in March this year and it was A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini [Had even done a review on it! Book Review - A Thousand Splendid Suns]

 - If you could live in a different era, which one would you choose, and why?

Answer - I would like to live in the period of Industrial Revolution. Seems like a period full of inventions, discoveries, new money, transition in fashion, great literature, American Dream ... phew! I can go on and on and on ...

 - Where is your favorite place to shop and why?

Answer - Covent Garden, London [U.K.] I just like the vibe around there and I always-always-without-fail find stuff there which is so unique that even years later people ask me, "Where'd you get that?!?"

 - Gold or silver jewelry?

Answer - If you had asked me this a couple of years back I would have said, Silver Jewelry without-a-doubt. But now I kinda like a certain type of gold jewelry. Not the super-shiny-really-yellow-types but the antique-y-rustic-gold types? Yeah, bring it on!

 - Your favorite drink is...

Answer - You know, I want to name some unheard-of-exotic-mouth-watering-drink but it's really a simple freshly squeezed lemonade in summers and a hot chocolate in winter. Boring, eh?
My tag is open to everyone and anyone who wishes to make a go-at-it! You can do it as a post or in the comments below. I would love to hear your answers. These are my questions :

1. Describe your personality in one word.
2. What's your current TV-Show obsession? and Why?
3. What's your favorite fashion magazine? and Why?
4. If you could exchange your life with a celebrity, with whom would it be? and Why?
5. Do you follow Politics of your country?
6. How long does it take for you to get ready in the morning?
7. Do you like naughty people or quiet people?
8. What do you think about a 3 day weekend?
9. How many vacations do you take in a year?
10. How many hours do you blog in a week?

Are You Happy?

I am having Ice Cream,
so you can be sure that I am Happy!
 Are you Happy?

Can't make up my mind!

Shirt Dress - Giovani [Delhi, 2007]
Belt - Coach, Thrifted for $10.00 [10']

Shoes - Dolce Vita [10']
Bangles - Local Boutique [09']

I do not have any wise words to share or anything to whine about either. What I cannot make up mind about however is whether I am ready for the fall yet, or not? Lately, every second blog I check is addressing this subject and I am just not sure!

While I am dying to wear my boots, leggings, and jackets I also quite like the simple shirt-dress and shorts right now on my shelves. Hmmmm. It's a good thing I live in Texas, 'coz the sun is most likely to lurk around up until late October here, which gives me enough time to make up my mind ;)

What I AM sure about is, that it's FRIDAY, BABY! [Yeah, I am shouting it at the highest pitch possible] Do we have any special plans for the weekend?

You asked for it!

Thank You, everyone who joined my pity-party yesterday. You will be glad to know it is over and I am back in my element. You would also be glad to know that I got my act together and decided to cook the god-damn Poha [an Indian dish made with flat rice] myself and ate it for breakfast-lunch-and-dinner!
There. Done and over with!

Anyhooo, moving on, today I decided to address the question which i keep getting in my comments. Mostly I try and answer them all individually, but these are the 'repetitive' ones:

I am from Delhi, as you must have deciphered from yesterday's post. My family, in-laws and most of my childhood friend still live there. Hence, it is home.

Current Location?
I live in Texas, U.S.A. with my husband.

Do I cook Non-Vegetarian food, in spite of being a vegetarian myself?
My husband eats everything, leaves and animals alike. I do cook everything as long as it's clean and bloodless, except for fish and omelet as I cannot stand it's smell.

Why don't I name the brands of my hand-bags/watches/sunglasses?
There are two reasons for it.
1. My Mom doesn't approve and while I am a grown woman, I choose to obey her, here
2. While, I wish to continue being informative and interesting regarding my fashion choices I need to find a balance where I do not feel I am 'showing-off'. This is my balance! However, if someone really needs to know something specific, I do not mind sharing it with them individually.

When will I post pictures from my FAT-DAYS!
Soon. I promise. Back when I was FAT I didn't own a digital camera so I do not have a soft copy of many of them. And the few that I did own were lost when my laptop was stolen earlier this year. Like a fool, I didn't have a back up! However, there was this one I had posted several weeks back, here.

This is all I could remember from the couple of previous posts! If you do have any more questions, feel free to ask me and I will try and answer them [ long as I think they are relevant. Fair enough, right? ;) ]

Home Sweet Home

Home Sweet Home
Delhi written in Hindi script!
DisclaimerThis is my state of mind while writing this post!

I am one of those people who have no sense of balance. Everything is one extreme or the other for me. Either my life rocks or it completely sucks. Either I absolutely love someone or I just do not care. [I had read somewhere: The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference! I happen to agree. Do you?]. The only exception to this rule would my OCD towards cleanliness. I can be happy or sad, but never messy/untidy/unclean.

So today my life sucks! Why? Well, today I wanted to eat Poha [An indian dish made with flat rice] but didn't wanna cook it myself. What alternative do I have? Nothing. Hence my life sucks. This would be one of those rare occasions when I miss home. On most counts my philosophy in life is  "Be content with what you have and where you are". Except on the days when I want something and can't have it simply 'coz I am not in the right place called - Home [Define Home - Place where all your needs and wants are met regardless of how you behave or your (damn) *Karma*]. Hence, the reminiscing!

My Favorite Kurta

Kurta (Tunic) - Cottons [Delhi 06']; Salwar (Pants) - Fab India [Delhi 09']

Sometimes I wake up in the morning with a feeling 'to dress Indian'. There is no rhyme or reason. I just do it for myself. Today was one such morning. Luckily husband got back from his lab early and I got a chance to take these shots. Else, by the end of the day my crisp-ironed-cotton-clothes would have been crushed and there wouldn't have been really any point in capturing their 'wrinkled-beauty' on camera.
